Studio Design Shasthra is a multidisciplinary architecture and design practice specialising in BIM-based project delivery, integrating research, technology, and design thinking into every stage of the architectural process. With over a decade of professional experience across India and Australia, the studio was established in Brisbane in 2008, followed by the formation of its Kochi studio in 2013.

Founded with a vision to engage in research-led architectural practice, Design Shasthra explores architecture not merely as built form, but as a response to cultural, environmental, and technological change. Our work is driven by a commitment to cost-effective, efficient, and resilient design solutions, supported by robust digital workflows and collaborative BIM methodologies.

Ar. Girish Ravikumar, Managing Partner of Studio Design Shasthra, is a Registered Architect in both Australia and India with over 21 years of professional experience. His portfolio spans education, commercial, healthcare, transport infrastructure, and high-rise developments across two countries. He has held key design and delivery roles at international firms including MODE Design and GHD in Australia, contributing to major projects for government and private clients.

Currently, he serves as the Principal Architect for Kochi Water Metro while leading Studio Design Shasthra’s practice and research initiatives. He is also actively involved in academia, mentoring postgraduate students in Advanced Architecture and BIM at the Asian School of Architecture & Design Innovation. Known for his precision, BIM proficiency, and commitment to timely project delivery, his work—including the award-published Trestle Pavilion—has received international recognition across leading architecture platforms.
